Stairway to Heaven and Heart

Stairway to Heaven and Heart

Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart have a special place in their hearts for Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” — which they performed at last December’s Kennedy Center Honors and have just released as a single.

At a seminar during Canadian Music Week in Toronto, the sisters discussed the classic song. Ann said, “It’s written in a long, linear form, and lyrically, there’s no extra words. Every little piece of poetry in there relates. It’s all beautiful. It’s almost holy to our generation of musicians. You don’t want to go up there and screw up ‘Stairway to Heaven.'”

Heart will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18th in Los Angeles.
