Two indicted for human trafficking

ClarksvilleNow.com Reporting

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Two people have been indicted on charges of human trafficking after they were each arrested earlier this year on charges of prostitution.

According to the indictment, Rodgers Lee Shealey Jr. and Sasha Gail Young participated in human trafficking between February 1 and 2. They both face charges for the prostitution of a minor, being in possession of materials showing the minor engaging in sexual activity, and attempting to “recruit, entice, harbor, transport, provide, purchase, or obtain by any other means, another person for the purpose of a commercial sex act.”

The minor in question was 17 years old at the time of the offense.

Shealey Jr. faces separate counts of soliciting a person to patronize a prostitute and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Both Young and Shealey Jr. face additional drug related charges.

Young was arrested during a prostitution sting in the Exit 4 area of Wilma Rudolph Blvd in March. During the investigation, police were able to track down the suspects using a social media site.
