NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A wounded Fort Campbell veteran who lost his legs while deployed was presented with a new home during a Titans pre-season game Thursday night.

WKRN News 2 reports that U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Joseph James thought he was being called onto the field to receive the game ball, but then learned he was being given a new, mortgage-free house by Operation Finally Home and Goodall Homes.

James and his wife are expecting their third child. The home will be built in Hendersonville.

James was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan four times and lost both of his legs after an improvised explosive device hit his Humvee. Despite his injuries, James has competed in several 5K races and trained for sporting events for disabled athletes.
