On Friday afternoon, U2 were back in Electric Lady Studios, the New York facility founded by Jimi Hendrix, where they’ve been working on their new album. This time they did a live performance that was beamed back to their native Ireland.

It was part of a benefit for Christy Dignam, the singer in the Irish band Aslan, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. The show took place at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre.
