If you were raised in the 80’s, then you remember The Dark Crystal – the iconic movie from 1982 directed by Jim Henson (He also directed the Labyrinth and created The Muppets) and Frank Oz (known for the Star Wars series and more).

It was recently announced that Netflix would be turning the movie into an original series called The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

The series will be a prequel series, and while Jen and Kira won’t be included, you will see more of Aughra, the Skeksis, and a couple of adorable Fizzgigs (!!!). Oh, and you’ll see much more of the Gelflings this go around!

The main cast lineup for this series is pretty star-studded including: Taron Egerton (Rocketman), Anya Taylor-Joy (Split and Glass), and Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones).

But the recurring cast is just as impressive: Helena Bonham Carter (Les Miserables), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Toby Jones (The Mist), Simon Pegg (Star Trek), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), Sigourney Weaver (Alien), Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and many, many others.

Needless to say we are pretty pumped for this series premiere on August 30. Will you be watching with us?
