$910,000 For “Hey Jude” lyrics

This is cool, but not $910,000 cool!  This is when you know you have arrived to the big time!  Imagine spending that kind of dough on this!!

Paul McCartney’s handwritten lyrics for Hey Jude were auctioned off on Friday, and the piece was expected to go for around $160,000. Instead, they ended up selling for $910,000.

The Fab 4, John, Paul, George and Ringo, used lyrics were used in the studio for the recording of Hey Jude at London’s Trident Studios in July of 1968.

FUN FACT: Paul McCartney wrote this as Hey Jules, a song meant to comfort John Lennon’s 5-year-old son Julian as his parents were getting a divorce.
