A busy weekend at Monica’s house!

So, my parents came to visit on Friday! It was a super busy weekend! My parents are a very, very active couple!  Always traveling, always doing things outside, always socializing! #lifegoals

I found out a couple months ago that I was going to need a new water heater and got a quote that was extremely expensive! I was telling my dad about it and he said, “don’t do anything until I get there!”

Fast forward to this past weekend! They came to stay this weekend and we started all the activity on Friday when they got to my house.

My son had a Jubilee football thing at Fryer Field on Ft. Campbell. So, we loaded up in the car and went to get checked in on base and then went to a cool and delicious Mexican Restaurant on Ft. Campbell Blvd. After dinner, we went back on base to watch the game.

Go Vikings! Unfortunately, they lost to Christian County…but not by much!

Then on Saturday, up early and headed to Lowe’s for this beautiful water heater!

Took us most of the day to install this! My dad knew exactly what he was doing! Thank goodness because, I did not!

Meanwhile, my step-mom was tearing up my front yard. Tearing it up in a good way! We didn’t get finished on Saturday, so extended to Sunday. My dad even installed some shutters on the house! I did some digging, hauling of rocks and bricks.

Not lying when I say, “you give my stepmom a shovel, dirt and some plants, you’ll have a HGTV yard in a day or two!”

Here is the before and after!

This was from a couple years ago after I had trimmed those bushes up front. But just wait for the after!

TADA!!!!

I still have to get all that dirt off the lawn! We almost finished before it rained yesterday!  That was the only thing left.

Can you spot the differences?

Oh yeah, also another project inside.  My dad made an access door on the peninsula in my kitchen. So much better getting stuff out of that cabinet! Now I don’t have to practically climb into the inside of the cabinet to get my food saver, Instapot or canning supplies!

I’ve still got to stain it.

That’s a project for another day!
