A petition to get original MTV VJ’s inducted into Rock Hall of Fame

I remember coming home from school and watching MTV when we had just gotten cable tv!  The best thing about cable in the 80’s was MTV!!  MTV had a HUGE impact on music back in the ’80s!  If the video was played on MTV, it was a hit!

I remember in 4th grade, my music teacher, Miss Ficca let us watch MTV on the last day of school!  I remember this video being watched by 17-20 4th graders like it was the best thing since sliced bread…Ah-Ha’s “Take on Me.”

By the way, I am friends on Facebook with my favorite teacher of all time!  She sparked my love for music and making music!

There’s a petition going around demanding that the five original MTV VJs be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  For you Millennials and Gen Z-er’s, MTV introduced Mark Goodman, Alan Hunter, Nina Blackwood, Martha Quinn, and J. J. Jackson…the very first Video Jocks on MTV.  They were rock God’s in the early 80’s!

Everybody had their favorites!  My fav was Nina Blackwood!  She had cool hair, cool clothes and the coolest attitude!  I wanted to be just like Nina!  I wanted to be friends with all of them!  I wanted to hang with them all!!

Last I checked, it had over 3,500 signatures. This was just started by a fan, so we are not certain if the Rock Hall will address it, no matter how viral it goes.
