Miami, FL, USA: April 2021: Grease The Original Soundtrack from the Motion Picture. Original motion picture soundtrack for the 1978 film Grease on vinly record LP.

A prequel to the movie Grease has been given the green light!

The Viacom CBS streaming service has given the green light for Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, a prequel to Grease. The series will be 10-episodes and will soon start producing the prequel.

Rise of the Pink Ladies takes place four years before the original Grease. The show’s logline says, “before rock ‘n’ roll ruled & before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school.  Four fed-up, outcast girls dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.”

If you remember, Stockard Channing, Didi Conn, Dinah Manoff and Jamie Donnelly played the Pink Ladies in the 1978 feature film version of Grease.

No word on if any of the original movie cast members will appear or a premier date.

This should be good!
