Have your Thanksgiving plans changed?

This is one of those things that is so hard! Imagine my family gathered around the phone talking to other family members about Thanksgiving. Because one of my family members in Georgia doesn’t have the best immune system, we all made a heart wrenching decision not to be together for Thanksgiving. My 11 year old just got over a stomach bug, it was touch and go there for a minute, but because the bug may have spread to my family in my household, there is no way we could take that up to Georgia. It could be catastrophic.  So, the decision to forgo Thanksgiving in Georgia. Here’s to hoping Christmas will not go the same way! My family and I decided it was for the safety of everyone! Hardest decisions EVER!

So, now, I am tasked with the Thanksgiving dinner at my house! Knowing me, there’ll be more food than a family of 3 needs, so we’ll be eating leftovers for days! I’m ok with that! I’ve invited a few from the station that may not have family in this area or at least bring them a plate by their house. Anyway, back to the problem at hand…I’VE NEVER COOKED A TURKEY! I am not panicking though, thank goodness for the phone, Butterball Turkey Hotline and Youtube!

I’m planning the menu as we speak!

So, let’s do our part, come together and maybe all of our Christmas plans won’t be like Thanksgiving! I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving and I hope you’ll think about your loved ones that may have a compromised immune system. I know it’s hard, I’ve been there.

Let me ask, have your Thanksgiving plans changed because of the coronavirus?
