Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson lost her 17-year battle with cancer

Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson has died aged 61 after a 17-year battle with cancer on Monday.

The groups  hits included It Must Have Been Love and Listen To Your Heart.

Marie retired from touring three years ago on doctor’s orders.  She is survived by her husband and two children.

In 2002, Marie collapsed and suffered a seizure while out jogging with her husband.  The doctors found a brain tumor.  She had surgery to remove the tumor and completed months of chemotherapy and radiation.  As a result of all this, she was blind in one eye, limited hearing and couldn’t speak for months afterwards.

RIP Marie Fredriksson!!
