The missing gorilla scenes you never saw in the Goonies

The lost Steven Spielberg short film that we’ll never see.  It’s hidden amongst the deleted material from one of his most popular movies.  The Goonies, which premiered in theaters on June 7, 1985.  Spielberg came up with the story and was always on the set, calling the shots and even whole sequences.

One of those sequences became a minor storyline that was cut from the theatrical version, along with the movie’s original ending. To this day, none of that material has been seen. “They couldn’t find the footage,” according to Richard Donner.

So, what is it that we missed out on??  The adventures of Bonzo and Bertha, two gorillas who escape from the Astoria, Oregon zoo.  In fact, the Goonies are accidentally responsible for the gorilla jailbreak.

Here are some other deleted scenes

Unfortunately, we will never see this sequence!
