What’s the “Candy Tax?”

We’ve all been there, even when we were kids and our parents were going through our Halloween bags….you know, the ole “let me check for needles or poison” trick.  Maybe it was halfway the truth but mostly just to eye your loot and take the “candy tax” for walking us around the neighborhood.

Fast forward years later, not gonna lie, I STILL pull that trick on my 10-year-old!  Luckily, he is easy going and gives me all the Reese cups.  He’s cool like that, but DO NOT lay a finger on his Butterfingers.  His favorite!

Have you ever gotten home before the kids and heard their candy bags speaking to you from their room or the pantry??  I’m not gonna lie, I feel some bags have voices that say, “pssst, Monica…over here…MONICA!!!!  OVER HERE!!!!”  A voice loud enough to crash any diet!

Do you take out a “candy tax?”  What is the first candy you go for in your kids Halloween bags?
