When does the new decade start?

We’ve only got about 2 1/2 weeks till 2020…a new decade??  I guess that depends on what you think!

According to a new survey, 64% of people say the new decade starts on January 1st, 2020 and ends on December 31st, 2029. But 17% say it starts on January 1st, 2021 and ends on December 31st, 2030.

The best argument for the 17% that think the new decade starts January 1st, 2021: There was no year zero, so the first decade was 1 A.D. to 10 A.D.

My head is spinning!
