Add A-HA to the list of musicians who are upset about politicians using their stuff. Only in this case, it’s got nothing to do with the actual music.

On Monday, Donald Trump released a new campaign video that uses the infamous “rotoscoping” technique that A-Ha made famous in their “Take On Me” video.
It’s not like A-Ha owns rotoscoping or anything, but it is an irrefutable scientific fact that the second you see it used in any context whatsoever, you immediately think “Take On Me”.

So the association is clear, and A-Ha’s Magne Furuholmen isn’t happy about it. He says, quote, “You write a song in your youth and you don’t write for a particular group of people one way or another; you write it for everyone. But then stuff like this happens.”
He adds, quote, “We make our music for everybody. We didn’t intend to make our music part of a divisive campaign.”
Oh, and Twitter has jokes too!
